Practical skills for real emergencies.
This class is designed for people who need an AHA course for work or school, as well as anyone who wants the confidence to help before EMS arrives.
Who commonly takes Heartsaver?
Teachers, childcare professionals, coaches, personal trainers, construction and hospitality teams, workplace responders, parents and community members.
Will I receive an AHA card?
Yes. After successfully completing the course, you receive an American Heart Association eCard valid for two years.
Is there a separate Heartsaver renewal class?
No. The American Heart Association does not have a separate renewal version of the Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course. If your current card is nearing expiration, book the regular Heartsaver class and confirm your employer or school's course requirement before registering.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to practice CPR skills on floor-level manikins.
Is this the right class for nurses?
Most nurses and clinical healthcare professionals need BLS Provider rather than Heartsaver. Confirm the requirement with your employer or school.
